True Hunger 6-Week Virtual Group

$675.00

True Hunger is an intimate virtual group program where you will learn to listen to your body as a way of listening to Soul. We will be reconnecting our heads to our bodies. There are reasons we disconnect from our bodies and there is wisdom in the symptoms we experience in that disconnection (symptoms such as body hatred, worry about size or appearance, difficulty tracking body cues). We will be exploring the meaning and the deeper purposes of what we have been through in order to move from conceptual understanding to actual transformation.

The group will focus on the depth psychological and archetypal aspects of embodiment as a path to soul. We will orient towards guiding myths of Inanna, Echidna, and Psyche & Eros to support our work of developing a strong, clear presence in our bodies. The Overcoming Body Hatred Workbook will be used loosely, leaving room to focus on pieces that are important to the group as they arise.

This group is for women who are curious about moving from body stress to body peace, but who are interested in the deeper meaning of symptoms. People who are curious about transformation rather than coping only. People who are open to experimentation and trying new ways of relating their bodies. People who are interested in suspending solution-focused thinking for curiosity and listening.

You might be interested in this group if you…

  • Want to connect your head to your body

  • Want to feel more comfortable in your own skin and less critical of your body

  • Want to take up more space in your life by moving towards dreams and desires

  • Struggle to use your voice to set boundaries and ask for what you need

  • Find yourself performing from your body and want to learn emanate from it instead

  • Want to be able to trust your own internal, intuitive compass

Through this work we will be trying to listen to the deeper metaphor and meaning in our struggles—what might it mean to take up more space? If we are craving something, how might that signal deeper cravings of the soul? If our bodies could be whatever size and shape they wanted to be, what would our lives be like?

Scheduling: We will meet every week for 1.5 hours each week starting on Monday, September 9. Session dates are: Mondays Sept 9, 16, 23, 30, Oct 7, and 21 (skipping October 14) from 2-3:30pm MST (if there are major scheduling conflicts we will discuss as a group other possible times). We will meet together as a small group to actively listen to our bodies, symptoms, dreams, and desires through one-on-one coaching from me and through group practices. We will explore what gets in the way of honoring our bodies.

Between group sessions you will receive audio lectures and practice prompts to deepen our work so that each session is rich for exploration.

We will be using a depth psychological lens, which is considering soul, myth, and metaphor in the process of living more peacefully in our bodies.

Topics we will explore:

  • How to shift from negative body judgements to relating to your body

  • Body Work as Soul Work to support us in recognizing body anxiety not as a flaw, but as a starting point for a journey of self-discovery and transformation

  • How the presence or absence of emotional attunement in childhood impacts our ability to connect with our bodies and needs.

  • Understanding the purpose and value of emotions in guiding our actions and decisions.

  • Somatic practices to increase body awareness and cultivate self-compassion

  • The concept of “stuffed and starved," identifying areas where we might be overconsuming while neglecting our true soul hunger

  • An exploration of the symbolic language of dreams to gain insights into our unconscious desires and fears.

What you will receive:

  • An understanding of your own deeper longings and needs that body hatred might be masking

  • Healing myths that support you in remembering your own wholeness

  • Cultivation of a mindful awareness of your thoughts and feelings without judging them

  • Practices for accessing the intuitive, compassionate part of ourselves that integrates reason and emotion.

  • A shift from a critical, analytical stance towards our bodies to a place of acceptance and presence

  • Begin healing the past experiences that have created a barrier to receiving nourishment

  • Recognizing the innate wisdom and guidance within you, your soul's calling.
