What is this course?

True Hunger is an 8-week online course that is self-paced. It is designed to: 

  • Decrease stress and struggle around food
  • Increase trust and peace in your body
  • Increase skills and tools to help you feel empowered in your body and life

True Hunger is based on the idea that when we disconnect from our bodies and physical hunger through suppression of appetite, being too “in our heads,” or trying to manipulate our bodies to conform to an external standard, we also disconnect from our inner wisdom and the deeper longings of our soul. This leads to confusion around life purpose, decreased healthy risk-taking, and a sense of dullness in life. 

The goal of this course is to help you connect with your body and intuition. When you silence the messages of your body through over-riding hunger and physical needs, you silence your soul trying to get your attention.

Course Overview + Timeline

Course Overview: True Hunger is organized as a journey through Body, Mind, and Soul. Each week you will focus on specific concepts, tools, and personal explorations to deepen your self-understanding and skills toolbox.

  • Week 1: Introduction to True Hunger
    • Overview of True Hunger principles and concepts including how the body becomes silenced and the journey forward.
    • Personal reflection practices to explore your relationship with your body, food, and desire.
  • Weeks 2 + 3: Body
    • Better understanding diet culture including the psycho-spiritual impact of diet culture on women
    • Learning to stop feeling “stuffed-and-starved” and accomplishing actual, true nourishment
    • Learn to sense your body, sensations, and feelings from the inside out
    • Write your own body story in order to increase clarity around your relationship with your body
    • Developing tools to increase pleasure in your daily life as a healing practice
    • Learning concrete tools to feel more secure, safe, and at ease in your body

     

  • Weeks 4 + 5: Mind & Emotions
    • Learn how to shift from habitual, automatic thinking to a place of developing more agency around your thoughts so they don’t control you
    • Practice understanding your emotions as a guide for your life
    • Identify and name your emotions for increased emotional awareness and resiliency
    • Understand the “3 States of Mind” to help you name and work with your emotions and mind as important parts of yourself, though distinct from your deeper wisdom
    • Develop concrete skills to expand emotional tolerance, diversity, and insight

     

  • Weeks 6 + 7: Soul
    • Take your power back by “taking your eyes back”
    • Identify deeper hungers of your soul and how this is a path to your purpose
    • Explore the feminine soul initiation and how to understand how to evolve where you are in this journey
    • Identify the 7 Phases of the True Hunger journey
    • Developing the tools to understand your dreams (Dream Work) helping you use dreams as guides and messages from your psyche

     

  • Week 8: Conclusion
    • Work with ceremony to release what you need to let go, to honor your journey so far, and to set intentions for your future
    • Presenting ideas for moving forward and learning further

How does an online class work?

True Hunger is an online course. This means you control your own pace for completing the course. After you register, you will receive a welcome email with information about the course, the True Hunger workbook to download, and a password to access the videos for each lesson. It is organized into weekly content as a suggestion so you have time to really work through the material. However, you are free to go faster or slower depending on your preferences and needs.

How do I know if True Hunger is right for me?
